Aksharoo is a children’s language-learning app operated by Beej Labs (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what we collect and how we use it. If you have questions, email privacy@beejlabs.com.
To provide lessons and feedback, show progress, deliver homework, comply with legal requirements, and improve the App.
By default, lessons run on-device where possible. If cloud speech is enabled, we send short clips (1–2 seconds) to our speech provider to score pronunciation and delete them after scoring (normally within 24 hours).
We do not sell personal data. We share only with service providers who process data for us under strict agreements (e.g., storage, speech recognition). We do not include third-party advertising SDKs.
Parents can view, download, and delete their child’s data in the App at any time. Parents must approve camera use, homework uploads, and cloud speech.
We use encryption in transit and at rest, role-based access, and regular access reviews.
The App is intended for children under 13 with parental involvement. We obtain verifiable parental consent before collecting personal data from a child. If you believe we collected data without consent, contact us and we will delete it.
